The Kids Kayak Adventure Camp is ERBA's annual camp for kids. Boys and girls ages 9 - 15 meet daily over the course of a week learning the sport of sea kayaking. We begin on the quiet tidal estuaries of the Essex River Basin and nearby Chebacco Lake. As the students become comfortable in their kayaks, we progress towards a variety of kayaking skills such as wet exits, rescue techniques, paddling strokes, seamanship, and safety on the water. In-water games are also played to develop the paddler's self-confidence.
Safety and experience is extremely important to us. Our staff is First Aid and CPR certified. They also carry two-way radios, first aid kits, and cell phones in case of emergency. The staff-to-child ratios allow each student to progress at his or her own pace.
Sea kayaking is an amazing way to connect with nature, build confidence, and hopefully develop a life long love and appreciation for the ocean. We hope your son or daughter will join ERBA this summer for a week or more of paddling adventure.
